Move a domain to another application
Domains in Sock can be moved between applications.
The behaviour of the move will differ, depending on the conditions:
To an application on the same server
The domain will be removed as an alias from the original application, and added to the new application.
Because both applications are hosted on the same server, this change will be immediate.
To an application on another server
When the new and original application are hosted on different servers, Sock will put the domain in migration mode.
In migration mode the domain will remain linked to the original application in Sock, until the migration is finished.
The domain will be added as an alias to the vhost configuration of the new application, but will not be shown as an alias to the new application in Sock.
It will only appear as an alias in Sock once the migration is complete.
Move a domain to another application on the same server
Navigate to the Domains menu on the left-hand side, and select View for the domain you want to move.
Select Edit domain to change its settings.
Select the new application that will be linked to the domain via the New application dropdown menu, and confirm with Update Domain.
Move a domain to another application on a different server
Navigate to the Domains menu on the left-hand side and select View for the domain you want move.
Select Edit domain to change its settings.
Select the new application that will be linked to the domain via the New application dropdown menu and confirm with Update Domain.
The domain is now in migration mode, where the domain is present as a vhost alias on both applications.
Once the DNS change has been propagated and the application is ready for use, finalize the domain move via Finish this migration.
Sock will unlink the domain from the original application, and move it to the new application.
Cancel migration
Navigate to the Domains menu on the left-hand side and select View for the domain you want to edit.
Select Edit domain to change its settings.
Remove the selected application from New application via the x symbol, and confirm with Update Domain.
