External access to my MySQL database

For security reasons, it is only allowed to access the databases from the servers of Openminds. External access is not possible.

MySQL on a managed VM

In the case of MySQL on your own managed VM, however, it is possible to whitelist some IP addresses to be whitelisted so they can connect directly to the database.

To do this, add the desired IP addresses as an additional hostname in the database settings in Sock:

Note that you must add the public IP address of the computer.
If the address starts with 192.168. or 10., for example, this has no effect. The public IP-address of your computer can be easily found by surfing to our IP-address look-up tool: https://ip.combell-sre.net/.
